Podcasts on web design from
boagworld.com. Having moved back to London and set up my studio back here again i have found space to be more creative than i have had chance for over the past year or so. As such i stumbled across this podcast whilst looking up some stuff on CSS 2.0.
I can't vouch for the entire series on boag's podcasts but what i have heard certainly entertains and makes a change from listening to music all day (not that thats ever been a problem!)
If only i had a Sony Ericsson! Its about time someone did a great travel charger like this and the fact it can be run off two AA batteries is even better.
Check the review. It's mobile phone time again. I'm still using my trusty
Nokia 6310i. The reaction it gets is usually twofold, its either, a) that is a great phone or b) whats a 6310i? (usually from the 16 year old sales assistant who doesn't understand the times when mobiles didn't have a camera or colour screen!)
It's not that i havn't tried new phones, i ventured over to
3 for a while and got their first Nokia, the delightful(check the sarcasm)
7600. Even recently i went back to
3 and got a
Nokia 6280 but that appeared to have the worst build quality ever. I had it striped down within an hour of buying it because the wonky screen was annoying me so much...apologies to my friend who works on the design team there but really it was just shocking.
So anyway, i have decided to venture into the word of samsung phones, slightly later than most of my friends who seem happy with them. Whilst checking them out i came across this, Samsung's SCH-B600, a 10MP camera...yes you did read that right!
Check out all the pics and specs
hereSo anyway, apart from the fact that i think the world has gone crazy, it seems i can't get a phone that is just that, a phone. Looks like i'll be moving wiht the times and getting myself a camera...sorry i mean a phone, I do hate it when boundaries of product functionality are so blurred!
Wat Design have created one of the nicest clocks i've seen for some time. The dutch designers have created something almost stupidly simple, not too sure i like the butterflies but hey, thats just a taste thing.
Fundamentally, its product design at its best, function and form combined from the bare essentials of need and components.
Anyone who knows me, knows i'm an apple geek.
Dont get me wrong I'm not saying that PC's dont have their uses, of course they do. However i've always believed that apple have a little bit more style and i think i can say that safely without a barage of backlash!
I bought a 2nd gen ipod back in 2002, an early adopter of the mp3 personal player technology! However i think its time to upgrade and i've got my eyes a nano. I always use my 2nd gens case but its not the best and its good to see that so many companies are offering decent and varied solutions to the problem of housing your ipod.
Tunewear are perhaps one of the best i have seen to date, Not all their designs are great but at least they seem to have grapsed the basic problems associated wiht the ipod, hopefully their designs will improve and maybe even offer a design your own case print option???
Oh, and if anyone from Tunewear reads this, guys, lose the pointless flash intro before you choose a language!
So I finally found some free time to redesign the site!
Technically this is phase two but phase three is already under way. Any comments/bugs you see please feel free to post!
